  • Educational Encounter with Exotic Animals

    Learn about exotic animals from around the world with Scales and Tales Traveling Zoo! Pet and feed unique animals with the guidance of trained, professional handlers. Program is 1 hour. Stay for the full hour or just stop in!  
    Program times: 11:30A.M. & 1:30P.M.  –  Children’s Tent 
  • Recycled Crafts
    Help children get in touch with their creative side through recycled craft projects! 
  • Flow Painting
    A fun, unique style of painting that children can explore and try. 
  • Mystery Mineral Match Up
    A breakdown of minerals – names, appearance, where to find them. “It’ll rock…!”
  • Cardboard Houses
    Explore, crawl, hide, play! Imagination awaits you.
  • Visiting Owls & Other Animals
    Interact with the animals that Raptors Society & Beekeepers bring! Help Save Pets will also bring dogs for pet adoption. Note: Dogs cannot be taken home on the same day as the festival, but adoption process can be started.)
  • Face Painting!
    Look like your favorite superhero, animal or get creative with other ideas. Frozen, Batman, tigers, puppies, flowers… our talented artists love painting and working with kids! Can’t decide what you’d like? … An iPad will be available with inspiration ideas!
  • Create & Learn with Joliet Public Library
    Meet the Joliet Public Library’s red wriggler compost worms, and learn about their habitat. Create and repurpose with recycled materials. Make pop-up castles.
  • Fun Things to See!
    Blacksmith – Learn about a blacksmith’s forge, anvil and cooling tub. Children (and adults) can make their own necklace.
    City of Joliet Storm Water Display – Children will learn through a display containing live fish that contaminants and debris should never be dumped into a storm sewer drain as these contaminants directly affect the water quality of our streams and rivers. **Fish from the display are given away at the end of the day!
  • Bluestem University Courses
    “The Dynamic Energy of Worms” with Joan O’Keefe

    Joan O’Keefe is Will County’s own Environmental Educator. She teaches kids and community members the importance behind recycling, composting, and more. Learn how worms work as decomposers turning organic matter into healthy soil. Watch the worms wiggle and join a raffle for your very own compost bin!
    “Wellness & YOU” with The Center for Wellness and Bodywork and Saint Joseph Medical Center
    The Wellness Corner features mini-sessions in massage, reflexology, healing touch, and acupuncture. Blood pressure and glucose screening is available. Other wellness information includes chiropractic, hypnosis, nutrition, birthing. All health practitioners love working with children, helping them learn and/or answering parents’ questions!
